SBS: National Center On Shaken Baby Syndrome Relocates

13 March 2011—
The National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome has moved its corporate offices from Ogden to 1433 N. 1075 W., Suite 110 in Farmington.  The non-profit organization’s new office is located within the Oakridge Office Park.

The National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome will occupy 3,983 square feet of the 19,210-square-foot Oakridge Office Park.  The organization’s lease is for three years.  NAI West Commercial Real Estate Services Principal and Executive Real Estate Agent Bill Nicoloff represented the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome and the property owner, Cal-Wait Properties, LLC, on the transaction.  The transaction closed on Feb. 15.

Nicoloff said the organization is relocating due to expansion.

The National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome’s mission, as outlined on the website,dontshake.org, is “To educate and train parents and professionals, and to conduct research that will prevent the shaking and abuse of infants in the United States.”  The organization focuses its efforts on professional training for those who work with shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma cases, and prevention education for parents and those who work to prevent child abuse.

The organization was originally part of the Child Abuse Prevention Center of Utah.  In 2000, the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome became its own legal entity as a result of funding from the Dr. W.C. Swanson Family Foundation. (3.7.11)
