AHT: Pennsylvania: Ryan Michael Plouse charged

WARREN HOWELER:, January 25, 2011

A Sayre man who is facing charges that he allegedly injured a two-and-a-half month old infant recently waived his formal arraignment in Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, effectively pleading “not guilty” to the charges filed against him.
Ryan Michael Plouse, 21, is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.
Plouse, who is currently out on $50,000 unsecured bail, is being represented by Athens attorney Robert McGuinness.
On Jan. 11, McGuinness filed a “waiver of appearance at arraignment” on behalf of his client. Plouse was slated to appear before Bradford County Judge Maureen T. Beirne for a formal arraignment on Feb. 3.

Plouse’s next court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
Pennsylvania State Police explained that Plouse was charged after he allegedly caused a severe head injury to the female girl “in an abusive injury consisting with shaken baby syndrome.”
The victim also suffered bruising to her face and a broken rib over an approximately two-month period from Nov. 1 to Dec. 23 at a home in Terry Township, police said.
The victim was treated and released at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, police said.
