SBS: Widerburg, Idaho

RIGBY -- An eastern Idaho day care worker has been sentenced to three to seven years in prison following a modified guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter involving the death of a 20-month-old girl.
Patricia A. Widerburg was sentenced Monday in 7th District Court by Judge Gregory Moeller.
Moeller retained jurisdiction and said the 41-year-old Widerburg may be eligible to serve probation for the remainder of her sentence after spending five to six months at the South Boise Women's Correctional Facility.
The case stems from the November 2008 death of Hannah Covington at the Learn and Grow Daycare. An autopsy indicated she died of a subdural hematoma, which Jefferson County officials said was consistent with shaken baby syndrome.
The Post Register reports that Moeller says he agreed to the plea deal because Covington's parents had also agreed to the resolution.
