GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A man who admitted to shaking and injuring his 2-month-old son on the Grand Forks Air Force Base has been ordered to serve two years on electronic home monitoring and three years on probation.
Twenty-one-year-old Kyle Danaher pleaded guilty in August to charges of child abuse and neglect. The Grand Forks Herald reports that Danaher in court on Wednesday said he "failed as a father and a husband."
Danaher's wife, Elonmarie, told the judge her husband made a mistake in shaking their son late last year and that she believes it will never happen again. At the time, Danaher was not an airman but was living on base with his wife, who was in the Air Force.
