YUMA, AZ - United States Marshals arrested two parents after their daughter was found with severe injuries Tuesday, including a deep bite to the child’s face.
Mandy De Los Reyes, 33, and James Arviso, 43, were arrested this morning in association with the abuse of their nine-month-old, who was air-lifted to Phoenix Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

At approximately 5:16 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the area of South Arizona Avenue and East 24th Street to assist firefighters who reported that an infant there was having difficulty breathing. The girl suffered from Shaken Baby Syndrome and had a significant bite mark on her left cheek that “may lead to life-long complications or disabilities,” according to a police report.
Both Arviso and De Los Reyes have been charged with child abuse, aggravated assault and hindering prosecution.
Authorities say the girl is currently in stable condition.
